Re: Piano sounds weird when Synthesia is running

That fixed it! I think what happened is that the piano's synth got the event from me hitting the key, as well as the same event once more from Synthesia, but with a very very small delay, so the resulting sounds interfered. The delay was not constant, so the resulting pitch was different every time ...

Piano sounds weird when Synthesia is running

I used to run Synthesia on a Win8.1 notebook and have installed it on a Win7 desktop now. I have moved the files {bookmarks2, fingers, recentSongs, scores, songInfo, songProgressCache, tracks} in %appdata% over from the notebook to the desktop. When Synthesia is running, something weird happens to m...

Re: Low FPS and Stuttering with GTX 1060

I don't think the iGPU would show as regular CPU usage, since it's a separate chip, it doesn't just use one of the CPU cores.

Looking for BWV 565 that can be played on a synth organ

I want to play BWV 565 on my digital piano with an organ voice, so I need a version which is arranged for that.
Busoni's arrangement is not quite it, since it was written for the piano (at least it's just 2 voices instead of 3, but it's still written for a different instrument).

Re: (minor) Doubled mouseclick hitbox on Custom hands screen

Go to http://unixpapa.com/js/testmouse.html and check whether your mouse maybe sometimes triggers more than once when you click a button. It's a common problem called "switch bounce".

Re: What A Professional Pianist Sees While Playing

I've worked with eye tracking glasses like that. A very useful tool. There are small infrared cameras looking at your eyes. The rims have IR LEDs pointing inwards and I think the software determines the eye look vector depending on the movement of the bright spots (since from the perspective of the ...

Re: How to turn mp3 in a midi file.

Pianlo, if your input format is a PDF, you would have to manually enter all of the notes into a sheet music editor like MuseScore and then you can export as MIDI.

Re: How to convert a pdf sheet music in a MIDI file?

Pianlo, it's much less work to keep looking for a MIDI or MXML.

http://www.mutopiaproject.org/ is usually pretty good.

Re: Thank you and a few suggestions

Hi Jerry,

You can usually just set the computer to sleep after a certain amount of time without user input.
On Win7 that is in the power settings.

Re: Click note to hear it

If it's just two voices, you could have 3 scrubbing areas, to the left for left voice only, middle for both voices, to the right for right voice only.

Re: Click note to hear it

How about a scrubber but also allowing to hear only one voice (i.e. only left hand or right hand).

Re: Display of overlapping notes

Two notes on the same key could be shown as diagonally striped to show both voice colors.
If it is the same voice color, the stripes could have a 1-2 pixel black outline so you can still see that it is striped vs solid.

Re: Lyrics + LAN + votes

You two could use a metronome and click start right on the beat.

You can also set hotkeys which include the pedal, so for example holding the pedal and pressing the lowest or highest key on your keyboard could be play/pause.

Re: Coloured notes

Has anyone ever heard of a case where it was good that a patent existed? I've only ever heard mad stories like this very one. By now, the whole idea of patents sounds primitive to me. "Ooga booga, I make sharp stone quick. I have patent! You make sharp stone slow! If see you make sharp stone quick, ...
