Re: Synthesia on Nintendo Switch?

It would probably fit in pretty well with the rhythm games and other music titles in the Switch store.

By comparison, here are the scan results of the first third-party (ccm.net) download I found when Googling Synthesia download : https://www.virustotal.com/#/url/7eb5a43650670061e7d4d0fb27b6b14ef069d4b976d782ff68ef9757dee82ebe/detection Make a habit of only downloading software from the official sour...

Re: Is it possible to connect keyboard with rocksmith cable

Synthesia needs MIDI communication, it doesn't use pitch detection to score your playing the way that Rocksmith does.

Re: I think it's time I say what we're all thinking

Your first two mistakes are: 1. This is more of a learning/training aid than a game. I would totally love it if Synthesia gained support for an audio backing track, then it would have a lot of potential to add some piano rhythm game features. 2. The price right now is $30. Sometimes it goes on sale....

Re: Why did synthesia become PAY TO PLAY?

Synthesia has not been open source in a long time. You can still use an older version of the game to use your own MIDI files:

Re: Not 'gamey' enough

I agree with that. It would be cool if they took a page from Rocksmith and made some mini games to teach things like note names and scales in a dynamic way. Space invaders would be a good one to have you learn names, each enemy could be labeled with a name like C4 or Dmaj and you'd have to play the ...

Stop acting like a troll and post some useful information if you want any help. What version are you using now? What version(s) have you used that worked? If you install a previous version, are you able to play songs?

I have no such latency with mine. Your setup, adapter or hardware must be bad.

Another good brand is MIDISPORT:

I've used this adapter for several years, in Synthesia, in Rock Band 3 and other programs without issue.

Re: Trouble using MuseScore to transpose a MIDI file.

I'll update it to pad each note to a minimum of 1/8 beat for starters and we'll see how that goes. I think Nicholas is right about MuseScore though, it sounds like it has a bug with really short notes, it may be worth creating a thread in their bug report forum on the issue: http://musescore.org/en/...

Re: Guitar/bass arrangements in Synthesia

I guess I'll ask the user to keep an eye out for the next Synthesia releases. Changing the logic to export all strings' notes to the same channel of the same track would be pretty trivial for me to do, I could probably just have each instrument part written to a separate channel in the same track if...

Re: Guitar/bass arrangements in Synthesia

I think the user wanted to be able to play the bass part as a left hand arrangement and one of the guitar parts as a right hand arrangement, but this would require the bass and guitar parts to be authored within the same MIDI track (on different channels), then wouldn't it? Or will Synthesia easily ...

Guitar/bass arrangements in Synthesia

As a user request, I updated EOF (a chart editor for guitar-centric rhythm games) to be able to export the guitar and bass arrangements as normal MIDI files, ie. each note of each string is written as a MIDI note of the correct pitch. A user indicated that each string was treated as a separate instr...

Re: Convert PDF sheet music to MIDI?

The software I've heard of that does this is expensive and would never be as accurate as human interpretation. You're better off learning how to transcribe the sheet music into a MIDI editor.

Re: Midi NoteOn with Velocity = 0

Does your application report that it's actually sending those 3 bytes for the note release? If so, it doesn't sound like the keyboard is using "running status" encoding, what I'd imagine to be the main/entire reason note on events with a velocity of 0 were made to be treated as a note off (it lessen...
