Synthesia in the AUR?
Hi everyone, hi Nicholas I haven't been in here in like 6 years, it's been a while. Big props to Nicholas for keeping up the development, I'm still grateful it exists! I remember there have been threads around demanding a Steam version, back then there were some considerations whether it was feasibl...

Re: Synthesia on Linux with Wine and ALSA using FluidSynth
first post since 8 months, lol May I note, that I don't frequent the Synthesia fora as I used to in the beginning, and therefore might get here once a month? Therefore I won't really be able to answer questions that fast, so my apologies for that. I tried following the provided steps, which seemed t...

Re: Synthesia on Linux with Wine and ALSA using FluidSynth
Anybody have any guesses on what might be the issue? Thanks. - What distro are you running? - What are the specs of your computer? (RAM, CPU, speakers/synthesizer) - What did you do different than this guide? If it's not Debian/Ubuntu/Mint/#!/Elementary, or if you set up the Linux environment yours...

Re: Constant crash after 20 seconds on Linux
The problem occurs again, it crashes constantly, even after rebooting. What I found out, is that removing the wine folder (/home/me/.wine) prior to running Synthesia fixes the issue. I'm still trying to figure out what causes this.

Re: Constant crash after 20 seconds on Linux
Actually it looks like you're a little ahead of the stable release. (Stable looks like it's 1.6.2) Does it crash with 1.6.2? It's not Wine who's at fault (using. I installed the multilib versions of libmpg123 and lib32-ncurses and everything is working fine now. Can't say it's solved, unless others...

Constant crash after 20 seconds on Linux
Synthesia just crashes approximately 20 seconds after start for unknown reason. Using wine 1.7.11 and r2613. Everything works, but it just closes right in front of me. I also get an error message from wine, but it closes too fast for me to read what it says. Log contents: err:module:load_builtin_dll...

Re: Font rendering on Linux
If you use the real GDI+ DLLs instead, does that fix the problem? I don't know how exactly to use native DLLs with Wine, but I know it can be done. Grab that download, run it to extract, and use the gdiplus.dll you can find in the \asms\10\msft\windows\gdiplus\ extracted folder. Thanks, that fixed ...

[Solved] Font rendering on Linux
Hello, Synthesia Forum! Sure haven't posted here in a long time. I have been using the 8.5 beta for a long time, and I noted this bug was still not fixed. FontBug.png If I recall correctly, the builds of begin-2012 worked just fine on Wine 1.4.0. All the fonts now in the scores in the library, in th...

Here's how I'd like to see Multiplayer
After playing several games I thought I'd design how I'd like Synthesia would look like if Multiplayer would be implemented. The main screen ( full image ) 1.png Here are all the rooms visible. Private rooms must be searched for manually by IP. ( full image ) 2.png "New room" ( full image ) 3.png "J...

Focus not on last selected song
If I open up a song, and then go back to the library, the song I just selected is not focused on, instead the list is scrolled all the way up and pressing the play button on top doesn't work anymore. Pressing the up/down arrow keys won't make the list scroll down to the song again. Could this please...

Re: The world's hardest piano song!
When I wrote that Necrofantasia was the hardest song in the world, I was wrong. Night of Nights is the hardest song whith this 1.1 million of notes version For those who are skeptical, here is the midi file to compare with the other song That is an 8.36 MiB. Pretty impressive for a MIDI file. In fa...

Ok, sorry for late responding.
Maybe this could come in useful when we have the sheet-only screen, I suppose.

Re: 8.4 Preview r2154 - New Keyboard Graphics
I totally like the 'keyboard physics'; the reflection of the notes on the black keys and the height of the shadow of the black keys on the white keys is notably different than when it is stroken. It is very well detailed.

No, it is set to 3000 milliseconds, but when running in Wine, I must restart Wine so that it sees Qsynth again.

Refresh MIDI devices in-game
A little refresh button in the MIDI devices screen, that would be easier than restarting Synthesia to see if you hooked up everything correctly.

Synthesia on Linux with Wine and ALSA using FluidSynth
Synthesia on Linux with WINE and ALSA using FluidSynth with JACK optional Hello forums, I felt like making this as I think it may help out quite some people out there. In this tutorial I will cover how to get Synthesia running in Linux, but also how to get a built-in output (softsynth). This method...

Four hands notation (four staffs)
So recently I created a MIDI for four hands, rewritten from an ancient book I had laying aroung. While Synthesia plays the secondary tracks, I play the primary lines. I don't exactly know how you call those (systems?) but I mean that you get sheet like this; where you have 4 bars:
