Re: A Few Small Projects

I am not a color expert by any means.
If you look at these sites, it seems to me that you can have more then 9 unique looking colors. (including the fact that we need two shades per 'color'.)

Could that be optional?

Code: Select all

if (!DXUTIsActive() && ConfigOption("fancyname") == 1) Sleep(50);
I have dual screens, and I like to have chat and stuff open on the side. It would be nice if was smooth without being active.

Re: Worst performance in DX mode, why you don't scrap it?

It's going to be different with different systems, that's why there is support for both.

For me DirectX is smoother then OpenGL. (when window is focused)

Re: Synthesia 10

Ok, something is not right with hand assignments vs scores. Song has 35 plays, at least 8 are from last version. There are 5 tracks, channels 1,2,3,4,6. I have played it once, setup something like: ch3 as background, ch2 as Left, ch4 as right, ch1 as right, ch6 as background. I played Melody Both Ha...

Re: Synthesia 10

Do you mean when you change a note from Left to Right, the scores disappear? Say I have a song with 2 tracks, when I have track 1 set to left, I get scores for left hand. but when I have track 1 set to left and track 2 set to right, than I do not get any scores for left. (witch I should, sense none...

Re: Synthesia 10

How is the new hand hash system working? If I have a song with just left hand assigned there is scores for it, but when I add something to the right hand it hides the scores for the left hand. why? I seem to have lost most of my non-Syntheisa scores. (as in Syntheisa is not matching them to the hand...

Re: What does it mean to "learn" a song?

Although I hate to lose all my current scores, I fully under stand the need to reset them. (not enough data) Save your current .xml files somewhere. What I mean by lose is have Synthesia no longer use them. Ex when the part that generates the Hashes changes, the scores are all still 'there' but the...

Re: What does it mean to "learn" a song?

I think it's when it sounds about* like it should, in both melody and rerical modes. *By 'about', I mean like 95%-99%, 100% is not needed and can remove some 'feeling'. The scenario: Song A is 70% Song B is 98%, because Song B is a consistent mess up.(You Know where you are messing up, and it can ea...

Re: Few things that I think would help

That's a good point. but even if you where able to get Everything standard notation can do, currently there is more music in standard notation than anything else. (not that it can't be converted, but it takes time&effort or money) Sorry if it seems like I am whining. I just get a little annoyed when...

Re: Few things that I think would help

I believe Raymond's point is that if you can play from sheet music, you can take sheet music anywhere and play. Also the fact that all piano pieces are on sheet music. Maybe it's just that I don't know sheet music well enough, but I always feel that piano-roll is 'slow' or 'big'. (meaning I can't s...

What good is a trainer if you always need the trainer?

I thought MusicXML was going to be the 'easy' way to get better sheet music?

Re: is auto generation of fingering feasible?

That's good to hear. :D

The piano-roll plays a huge part in learning, and once I can move from that to sheet music, I'll happy. ;)
Not that piano-roll is bad, but mainly sheet music is more portable and has a bigger FOV! (would still like to see a global zoom)

Sweet!

It will be nice to be able to use my 3+ tracks. with all the 'simple view' graphs/scoring. :D
Although I will likely still have to go back to the adv view, every now and then. (If I just want to play bass, instead of bass+tenor+alto+soprano, etc..)

Re: Synthesia 10

I am interested to see how the hand-splitting will work. I can see it working really good, or not so good. :D Because there is many different styles of MIDI files, and many different ways to play them. Main questions I have is: Will you be able to select individual tracks, then split the tracks you ...

When you have 50k midi files, it just lags the menus. It stops searching when you are playing. (at least from my experience)
