The Production Grand has only 12 velocity layers, according to http://www.productionvoices.com/product ... n-grand-2/
12 velocities pedal up samples
12 velocities pedal down samples
12 velocities release samples
The free Estate Grand LE actually has up to 10, but it's only 650 MB in size.

Free soundfont from Production Voices
Just wanted to share what I found, a fine free piano sample, and/or a soundfont, from Production Voices, the ones responsible for the huge (430 GB) Production Grand. That one is not exactly free ($329 - $399) but the one I'm talking about is free - donationware. You can get this soundfont, based on ...

Habaneras from Carmen - fingering suggestions
In measure 10, I think it's better to use left finger 3 for the D, but move quickly to finger 5, while still holding the note, because there is not much time before the next bass line (D-A-D = DAD!) starts. As it is now, finger 2 is suggested, but I suggest finger 3 instead. In measure 32, in the tr...

Re: OpenGL 2.0 graphics support is required
I've had problems with Windows 10 before, which I didn't have with Windows 8, but I just loathe Win8 too much, to ever go back to it.
I've managed to solve them or work around them, but I know many digital piano owners simply stay with W7/8, because of problems with W10.

Re: OpenGL 2.0 graphics support is required
Thanks for your reply, Nicholas. I did a Google search for Intel HD Graphics 3000 Windows 10 , and the Intel representatives clearly state that there is no support for Windows 10, when it comes to this CPU with Intel HD Graphics 3000. A lot of members of the Intel forum criticized the company for dr...

Re: OpenGL 2.0 graphics support is required
I can testify, that it worked on my system to downgrade to Synthesia 10.2, as suggested by Nicholas in the top post. System: Desktop Intel i7-2600K 3.40Hz, Intel HD-Graphics 3000, 8GB RAM, Samsung 850 Evo 250 GB SSD. Windows 10, 64 bit. I couldn't understand why the falling bars were stuttering down...

Re: Grace notes - other embellishments
From the little I've dabbled in programming, I know that everything having to do with sheet music displays, and MIDI, is far from easy to code. So I for one, understand it takes time, and even small steps can take a lot of work. It would be great to able to incorporate improvisation, as we've touche...

Re: Grace notes - other embellishments
Thanks for replies. So we'll see if grace notes make it into 11, if not then maybe 12! Jimhenry, I also prepare my own MIDI files.

Grace notes - other embellishments
Hi! Are there any plans for Synthesia supporting grace notes, or some of those other embellishments, trills, tremolos, circling a note - a technique used in gospel and country - and such things? There are times when I would very much like to include grace notes or circling a note, in a song I'm prac...

Re: Can I play custom MIDI songs with the free version?
Well there are a few more features you get, by buying an unlock key. First, the sheet music display, then the waiting feature, which I use quite a lot, though some recommend not to. I had forgotten you can't play custom MIDI files in the free version, been so long since I got the unlock key, I can h...

Thanks for the sliding feature
Hi, just wanted to say thanks for the sliding feature for the sheet music display. It makes Synthesia so much more useful as a practice tool, when a new set of measures doesn't just suddenly appear instead of the old set. Now it slides smoothly in, when the earlier page comes to an end. Regards.

Re: CoolSoft Coolsoft VirtualMIDIsynth not detected
Thank you kiwi, actually I have solved the problem, simply by uninstalling and reinstalling VirtualMIDISynth. I intended to update the original post to reflect that, but obviously I forgot to do so.

Re: Piano as Output Device — Everything Works Except Metrono
That's right, and what I was trying to say, but you made it clearer. According to the manual (click here) there are no drum beats or tones. It lists a few grand and electric pianos, organs, a harpsichord, a vibraphone and two string voices. My PX-5S has drum beats, and Synthesia finds them. It's pro...

Musescore runs on Mac, though I don't know how simple it is, since I've not used it much, and when I had it, it was on a Windows PC.

Re: Piano as Output Device — Everything Works Except Metrono
I have a Casio PX-5S and the Synthesia metronome works fine with my piano. The PX-5S is different from your AP-450, in that it has no metronome of it's own. First thing to check, is if the metronome volume in Synthesia is not set to zero, or off. You do that by clicking the metronome sign, after you...

CoolSoft Coolsoft VirtualMIDIsynth not detected
I'm sure this is not a Synthesia problem, since the VirtualMIDIsynth doesn't show up in Notation Composer either. I have Windows 10, and everything was working fine, until I installed the last big update, think it was a new version of Windows 10 altogether. At least it took forever to download and i...

Re: Activation Key
Just so it's clear, my problems were about installing the Android version. I have had the activation key saved to my computer all the time, and the unlocked Synthesia survived the upgrade to Windows 10, that is, I didn't have to insert the new one. Still, I have retrieved the new key, and I'm assumi...

Thanks Nicholas, now I also have Synthesia on my mobile phone, it'll be good to be able to study songs on the train.
Clumsy of me to forget to tell you the old email address, luckily you still had it from the days of the finger hints work.

I have the same problem, but I can't use the Retrieve page. This is the message I get: We couldn't find your key. Double check your email address. Do you remember if you had a different email address back then? I actually changed my email address a few minutes ago. Is it possible that the change has...
