Re: BASSMIDI Driver

Unfortunately, the problem is with my SoundFont itself.. there are *no* samples for anything below a C2 for the ContraBass contained in the SoundFont.

(Edit) I'll make a note of that when/if I release a new version of WeedsGM# :)

Re: In Game MIDI Creator

Though, from the screenshot on your site, it looks like the only differences are that they updated their controls to the Windows 95 look (from 3.1) and added an actual tiny thumbnail view of what was going on in each track instead of just showing those dots. Another difference is CWP301's "Faders" ...

Re: In Game MIDI Creator

My favorite (which reminded me a lot of my ancient version of Cakewalk) ended up being Sekaiju . That's a pretty stripped-down, simple editor. Thanks for sharing that, Nicholas! :) Still not 'enough' as ancient looking as MY version of Cakewalk that I would prefer ( Cakewalk Professional v3.01 ) <g...

Re: BASSMIDI Driver

You would need to confer with Kode54 and MudLord about that, as I don't know or remember all of the details about it. I do remember that the start of it was early on, and there was some discussion about it over in Ian Luck's (Un4Seen) forums by all parties concerned. (edit) Scratch everything that ...

Re: BASSMIDI Driver

@All, BTW, I was just perusing my old messages in this thread, and realized that there were TON of broken links. Early this year (I think it was back in January), I went through a major server URL change (as detailed here http://www.richnagel.net/#server ). Anyhow, for any of the links such as: http...

Re: BASSMIDI Driver

latencyTest.png You know, after further latency tests with the BASSMIDI Driver, I don't understand why you're having 0.124 seconds of latency with version 3.1 of the driver (?). The tests that I detailed earlier resulted in 0.052 seconds of latency for the versions 1.x and 3.x of the driver ( http:...

Re: BASSMIDI Driver

Ditto to what Stephen replied. Nevertheless, you can download the installer directly from http://www.mudlord.info/bassmididrv/bassmididrv.exe , and virus scan the file yourself :wink :) (edit) P.S. Re: BASSMIDI Driver

That looks like a really interesting method of Latency testing, Nicholas :) The way that I tested it for the screenshots on this page (scroll down to the screesnhots titled "BASSMIDI Driver v1.06 Low Latency", and the one below it "BASSMIDI Driver v2.0 Latency"): http://jasonwilliams400com.startlogi...

Re: BASSMIDI Driver

Hiya Folks, Long time, no type. MudLord finally created a PERMANENT home for the BASSMIDI Driver at http://www.mudlord.info/bassmididrv . FYI, the driver has went through quite a bit of changes, and the latest release version is 3.1. One of the MOST EXCELLENT features of this new version is the SUPE...

The name "Synthesia"

Been a while since I posted in the forums. I was watching a show on TV tonight on PBS, Nova Science Now, episode "How Does the Brain Work?". Click on the "Transcript" button on this page -> http://www.pbs.org/wgbh/nova/body/how-does-the-brain-work.html , and then search the page for "synesthesia". W...

Re: Tutorial: Near zero latency MIDI output on Windows

I'm actually changing my mind; I recommend Bassmidi, and this method more as an experiment Hehe, 'you will be assimilated... resistance is futile' <grin> :) Anyhow, the BASSMIDI Driver seems to be a lot easier to install and set up, and doesn't require any virtual MIDI patch cables as well. Like yo...

Re: Tutorial: Near zero latency MIDI output on Windows

I just tried it and (I'm sort of glad to say) I didn't get nearly as low latency with BASSmidi as with this method Less than 0.052 seconds (scroll down to the pic "BASSMIDI Driver v1.06 Low Latency" on this page -> http://www.cmoo.com/snor/weeds/SoundFonts/XMPlay/XMPlay.htm)? Note that measurement ...

Re: Key of car horns

Hehe, funny you should mention that... back when I had my old '69 Dodge D300 Camper Special pickup, I used to know what the notes of the two twin horns were <grin> :)

Came in really handy for starting off an accapella song with my buddies (think: pitch pipe) LOL! :)

Re: Midi Markers - how to add them to MIDI file?

kickininthefrontsea wrote:Thanks,
I tried Cakewalk, the mark feature seemed to only apply to marking a section to be able to edit it,
You're confusing the "Mark" menu (used to mark a section of measures in a track), with the "Markers" menu (click "View", and then "Markers")

Have a look at the attached pic.

Re: Midi Markers - how to add them to MIDI file?

how to insert markers into midi I know nothing about MuseScore, but the old antique Cakewalk Professional v3.01 does a fine job of adding/editing MIDI markers embedded within any given MIDI file :) Quite a while back, Twelve Tone Systems (now called "Cakewalk Software") granted permission to freely...

Re: BASSMIDI Driver

WeedsGM3 is awesome, but I wanted to avoid making the iPad app so large (and I also don't know any of your licensing terms... or even if they exist). If you wish to distribute WeedsGM3 with anything Nicholas, feel free to do so :) But like you said it's rather largish. I was thinking something more...

Re: Great Program (and BASSMIDI Driver)!

To DirectMusic?? That's wierd. DirectMusic is geared towards using the microsoft synth. You'll get nothin but serious latency using DirectMusic. Maybe mudlord meant DirectSound? That'll still give you latency on Vista,Win7. (Just like the usual waveout API.) Here is the initial reply to me by Mudlo...
