Re: Free Play can show chords, why not played midi files the

The only problem i see with this is what happens when a chord is played on left or right and on the other hand notes that make that chord unrecognizable? One solution would be to have it only activated for the hand you are playing but this again would be a problem when both hands are used. Or maybe ...

Re: 10.2 Preview r3659-r3715 - Lots of stuff

I have a new problem now in r3715! Every few measures the scrolling of the notes is stuttering. I tried several Midis of different sizes but it doesn't matter what I choose, the screen always stutters. Try switching from open gl to dx9 or backwards in the synthesia settings, that always fixed my pr...

Re: 10.2 Preview r3659-r3699 - Lots of stuff

Ok, this is definitely an improvement over the last one, i played for a bit and it's not bad, just takes a bit of time to get used to the font being different sizes also looks way more professional. If you think it's possible to make it even a tad thicker i wouldn't mind, but it's overall good. Also...

Re: 10.2 Preview r3659, r3690 - Lots of stuff

I think you have a bug on the alignment of the letters, as you can see in the picture below, the white keys letters are significantly higher than the black keys letters, which makes them stick out a little up. EDIT: Also if the notes are the same length, shouldn't the letter size be the same regardl...

What about the label background and being able to choose how thick the letter outline is?

Re: 10.2 Preview r3659 - Lots of stuff

Lol, i have a 27 inch monitor but it's wayy harder to read on that since it's huge and the note seem to move a lot faster so i have to either make synthesia small or i just use my laptop screen :P And to answer your question, even though the second picture is significantly uglier, it looks easier to...

Re: 10.2 Preview r3659 - Lots of stuff

I agree with rumpole, the fact that the letters on the black notes is smaller makes it significantly more difficult to read. And i'm not sure about the black color of the letters either, when the notes move very fast i still find it a bit difficult to focus my eyes, that black or whatever color need...

Switch from two hands to one during song

Hello everybody! So there have been countless times where i really wanted to start practicing a song only two handed, but there is always this one super hard section that makes me have to stop the song and change to only left and only right so i can get through the section. Would it be possible to h...

Re: A Few Small Projects

Ohh so you just want to remove the border of the notes altogether. I can understand why you would like to remove the outline cause it makes rescaling easier coding wise but, that black doesn't look very pretty, just my personal opinion. That being said i am willing to accept any compromise as long a...

Re: A Few Small Projects

Well i can give an example of yellow subtitles in movies, especially when it's a snow movie and the subtitles are yellow, it's a lot easier on the eyes. Here is an example http://www.shaolinchamber36.com/wp-content/gallery/screen_caps/ThirdSword_FuSubs/Subtitles/ThirdSword_FuSubs_Subtitles_02.png or...

Re: A Few Small Projects

Those definitely look way more easier on the eyes, looking forward to trying them out.

Have you considered other colors? Something like a dark yellow with dark outline. Or even something like being able to choose the color?

Re: A Few Small Projects

That looks amazing!! Really excited for this. Do you think it's possible to add colors just for 12 notes and make them repeat? oooor. OMG, add colors just for the key the song is in like the rainbow AND make the keys that don't belong in that key signature gray or something, that would remove the ne...

Re: A Few Small Projects

This may be the wrong place to post this so please move it if it isn't. At the current pace i see synthesia very slowly moving towards its full potential, have you considered taking synthesia to the next level? As in something like start a kickstarter, get a team together and make synthesia the powe...

Re: How far can I get with synthesia? Difficulties with read

Five years for an average student who practices 30-60 min daily, that is about the amount i have put in and i can say i still have about 2 years to go until i can master any simple song you throw at me. If for example you are a prodigy and are able to focus 2-4 hours per day, you might reach that po...

Re: Should I buy a midi controller instead of a keyboard?

First time i started learning piano i got a really cheap 100 dollar yamaha with 61 keys and lots of voices about 351 i think, the voices were somewhat ok'ish and i could hook it up to external speakers. I played on this for 9 months, and upon visiting a friends house that had a real piano, i could b...

Re: Overlapping notes

You play the octave, release the thumb on the right hand then play it with the left, there is no point trying to sustain a note you're going to press and sustain with the other hand.
