Re: Synthesia 0.8.3

What do you guys think? Hey Nicholas, Really liking your goals conception. I just got Rocksmith for my son a couple of weeks ago. He has been playing guitar and taking lessons for 18 months. It is similar to Guitar Hero, but for real guitars, not the midi-hybrid that Rock Band 3 tried. I bring it u...

Re: Incorrect finger hints and not counted songs.

Fair enough, the learning pack of Synthesia is not free. But the included midis and the fingering info is free. You are welcome to make any changes that you like and not share them with anyone. That is entirely up to you. The midis in their original form are used with permission from the following w...

Re: Incorrect finger hints and not counted songs.

Thanks, Xubur, The fingering hints in the included set of midis were added by forum users like yourself in a volunteer effort. No doubt we made some mistakes here and there. If you can post specifics over in this thread: https://www.synthesiagame.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=15&t=3087 the corrections c...

Re: 0.8.2 Preview r1352 - Song library improvements

Really liking the watched-folder drop down. It is probably just the way my mind works, but I like being able to organize my files my way and then easily use that structure. :D 0.8.2 is starting to feel awesome. I'm getting to clean up all these messes that I've been leaving everywhere over the last ...

Re: Fingering Hints

They certainly do. I have been adding fingering to all of my library. It works every time and I don't think it could be easier.

Re: Entering notes???

I use Anvil Studio to make midis from sheet music. I don’t know if it is the best or the easiest since it was the first one that I tried, but it is free and works for me. http://www.anvilstudio.com/ I have no musical background and have found it fairly simple and well supported. In the learning pack...

Re: Adding Fingering to the G Major songs

That's it. Some how when I looked at it eailer it just didn't register. I sent all of the two's to Nicholas. I thought I would have a little time do take another batch, but now I am not so sure. I'll check back in later and see where we are. I have a two and five hour flight tomorrow wi...

Re: Adding Fingering to the G Major songs

I thought I had seen a list of who was doing which, but I can't find it now. Maybe Nicholas can give us a list of what he is missing and we can do a rollcall on who has got those?

Re: Adding Fingering to the G Major songs

(.synthesia files overwrite the built-in metadata... and then local in-game changes overwrite that .) When you say overwrite, do you mean that the original data will be changed or just that it will be ignored in order of that hierarchy? I mean, will it be simple to remove any local in-game changes ...

Re: Scales and arpeggios MIDI files

Is anyone adding fingering to all of Electrode's midis? I will volunteer but I may not have time for a week or more. If no one has done it by the time I return I will use the ones modified by TonE (if that is okay) and repost them here.

Re: 0.8.1 Preview r1256

Outstanding interface for adding fingering, Nicholas! I don't know how it could be made more intuitive. I have never felt more confident that I will be able to learn to actually play piano. I have been stalling any serious efforts in anticipation of this day. Now I have to travel across the country ...

Re: Adding Fingering to the G Major songs

I have finished fingering for the 2-Medium group. I found the midis to have the following problems when compared to the sheet music. I could fix them to match the sheet if that is okay. I know that some changes were made after I quantized them. So I don’t want to make any changes until I can be sur...

Thanks you, sir. I will commit to finishing the level 2 mediums. I am done with half of them already. I am also keeping notes on discrepancies between the the sheet and midi files for future reference.

Re: 0.8.1 Preview r1256

To narrow it down, I hadn’t noticed it until Piantehead and Lemo mentioned it, but I may have always been on Open GL until recently. 1 DirectX only 2 r1201 no ghost frame, r1220 I see ghosts. 3 frickin’ ATI Radeon X600 4 directX 9.0c (4.09.0000.0904) and Video up to date. Re: 0.8.1 Preview r1256

I thought I would give fingering a try and love it. Very intuitive and easy gui. I will be traveling and in a conference Tuesday to Friday next week but may be able to finish the level 2 Mediums this weekend. But I already need some advice. “A Mighty Fortress is Our God” midi does not match the shee...

Re: How do I know which finger to use

Just thinking out loud and probably totally out of my depth. I am envisioning a song as a grid. To describe it in a text file would be something like the event list view in Anvil. So every note played has a time component relating to the x axis. Each note also has a pitch relating to the y axis. We ...
