Re: Learning to play blues accompaniment

At the end there is C7 chord: Construction: 1 5 b7 8 (octave). Any particular reason you chose this voicing? Actually, no particular reason, though someone might wisely find out that I like to make things hard - if they are too easy, I do loose interest quickly. LOL! Or, we might see it as a stretc...

Re: Learning to play blues accompaniment

Up to the next level - here is a Blues scale (# 1), with fingering (suggested), in the key of C. Construction: 1 2 b3 3 5 6 At the end there is C7 chord: Construction: 1 5 b7 8 (octave). There are few more Blues scales, i.e. add half tone between 5 & 6 step (correct word?), that is b6. For any other...

Re: Learning to play blues accompaniment

Jim, please check Blues 004... [Jim] - in 11th bar, there is A note on 1st beat, and since this is E chord, it sounds 'off'.

In this context, the subtle points of performance. The difference between a mechanical performance exactly as written and an artistic performance. Oh, I see, l' feelin'! Or, in my case, the difference between what I should play and what I do play. I am feelin' like 'hit-the-right-key-fo...

Re: Learning to play blues accompaniment

Here is another simple bass line, minor variance from Blues 001 [Chi]; each progression adds some notes; key of E; last progression adds bass rhythm variance and puts it all together. Jim, I would suggest to use first part of file name for variations / numbering, ex. instead Blues 001 ... [Jim-2] ->...

Just a sample, 2 x 12 bars (2 progressions). Though it might be of no use and interest to this thread, I find this (now I know how to part...

Re: Learning to play blues accompaniment

Another one interested. Thanks for the thread. Frankly speaking, I do not know how to actively participate in this thread. What I mean, the music is for playing, listening, singing, dancing etc. I have never understood MTV - that is, watching musicians or music videos. Whenever I visit a concert, I ...
