Re: Don't understandard finger in one music

That is a very good question. One answer to your question is that it is difficult to learn piano from Synthesia. Synthesia is a practice tool, not a tutorial. The best way to learn is from a teacher who can see what you are doing and give you exercises and explanations tailored to your needs. If tha...

Re: New to Synthesia, 2 small questions

I stand corrected. Yes, you are referring to sight reading correctly. And I agree that Synthesia could help with learning that skill.

Re: New to Synthesia, 2 small questions

I think cmplays is talking about learning to read sheet music rather than sight reading, a common area of confusion. Reading sheet music is a basic skill. I am not sure what more Synthesia can do to help with this beyond providing a better sheet music display in Synthesia 11. Sight reading is playin...

Re: Auxiliary display?

Beyond that, we can't add any more projector-specific features because someone already patented "Synthesia plus a projector" back in 2009. (They even went so far as to include a screenshot from Synthesia in their supplemental images that help describe how the "invention" works. Well have at i...

Re: Trouble connecting my Technics SX-PR902 MIDI PROBLEM

What kind of cables do you have? And how did you establish that they work? Do your cables have an LED that flashes when data passes through from the piano to the computer? Does it flash when you play a key?

Re: Synthesia 11

The rule of thumb in the organ world, if I remember correctly, is that 20 mSec is the threshold of perceptible delay. Organists learn to cope with perceptible delay because the electro-pneumatic mechanism used to open a pipe valve takes some time to open from the time an organ key is depressed, a pi...

Re: The emancipation of Synthesia

...regret for the limits that I believe are easily overcome. I think this is the real issue. Seemingly simple changes can be quite difficult to do in a piece of commercial software. It is hard to know what changes are hard and what changes are easy from the outside. Although it is clear that suppor...

Re: Piano Technique Series for Synthesia

What Synthesia does not teach is accurate timing. A couple of hours with the metronome and critical listening to one's playing might pay off greatly when it comes to playing in a band. That, and the simple ability to listen to someone else (start with the metronome, then the drummer) besides my own...

Re: "hello!"

If the thought to be conveyed is "Always try to use the same fingering" then why not say just that. Using "100%" in the advice can cause one to think that there is a score being produced by Synthesia that one is aspiring to maximize.

Re: Missing flats, sharps on wrong notes 10.4 and preview?

XZF makes a good point. When you play a wrong note, it probably isn't really in the key you are playing in. Even if it is in key, it still isn't a right note. Trying to notate a wrong note "correctly" is rather pointless. All that needs to be conveyed is "this is what you did and it was wrong" witho...

As you advance. you strike the keys with varying velocities to play louder or softer. The weight is necessary to be able to control that with any degree of precision.

Re: Save loops separately for each hand

A technique I learned for memorization which has worked pretty well for me is to start by learning the end of the song first. Then add the section in front of that and so on until you have everything memorized. The idea is that you can play from what you are learning through to the end. By the time ...

Re: How To Convert MP4 To MP3 In Windows 10

The spam seems better. But I think I saw two that got through. Based on those, I would suggest going to the phpBB ACP General, Board Configuration, Signature Settings, and disallow the use of links in signatures, and probably everything else except for disallowing signatures altogether. (Yes, I know...

labels like Sol#, До#, and Соль# which will be a little trickier to fit on one line, even at tiny font sizes. Do you provide those types of labels on black keys? How? You'll notice my example Bb is bigger than the Bb label on the key. We should also bear in mind that normally two adjacent keys shou...

Re: Save loops separately for each hand

I think we all agree that the use of loops, individual hand practice, and hands together practice are all important tools for learning a piece of music. But I don't think the enhancement of these features to address the best use of those, and other, practice techniques, is an easy task. I suggest th...

Re: Notes pressed labelled on top of virtual Keys

I think note labels for pressed keys can be added in a single row above the keys if you are thoughtful about the font and size: Synthesia Key Press Labels.png I don't think Key Press labels should be limited to Free Play. I think they are as useful as many of the other labeling options that are offe...
