Re: 0.6.6 Preview r553, r561, and r567

Hello Nicholas, Well we have to wait and see what others have to say about it... No older OS, I use Windws Vista and no RAID drivers. No special things installed as far as I know for now. The only thing I found in the Windows logs were some information messages. Two messages about the desktop window...

Re: 0.6.6 Preview r553, r561, and r567

Hello Nicholas, My results are very unpredictable but I did hopefully what you were asking, instead of filename A or B I will use the real name, so you know what I did: Case 1: Last opened file was "Daisy bell.mid" Started the game with Daisy bell.mid Opened the song library: result => empty Let Syn...

Re: 0.6.6 Preview r553, r561, and r567

I think that I know what's going on, I have it working now, but something isn't right I think. This is what I did: I first opened Synthesia with the last midi file I played, in that case the song library will not be filled with midi files, so I tried to open Synthesia with a fresh midi file, and now...

Re: 0.6.6 Preview r553, r561, and r567

Hi Choul, why don´t you stop wacthing all your folders and start one by one? Maybe then you can find what it´s wrong. Hi vicentefer31, I'm going to try but I already tried to remove one and added it again, that didn't work either. Isn't there another way I could find out what's wrong? Thanks. Edit:...

Re: 0.6.6 Preview r553, r561, and r567

Are you kidding?

No only the standard folders and one folder on volume D, nothing more and I get no files in my song library to see.

Re: 0.6.6 Preview r553, r561, and r567

Changes in r567 since r561: * Background song library scanning. This means: o Hard-drive is only searched once per startup (vs. every time you open the song library screen). o Song library screen opens immediately with no stutter or hiccup. o Newly added/removed/recursive-toggled folders take effec...

Re: I'm Confused :S

Please don't ask, try it and see if it works. And it would be nice if you let us know.
If it doesn't work there 's something else going on... I just hope it works for you so you can start playing with synthesia.

Do you mean this one? It's possible that you have to cut and paste the link, because it's too long.

Re: 0.6.6 Preview r539

I tried the following: - I clicked on (test library stuff) - went to 'add new watched folder... - clicked on D:\ - Doubleclicked on the folder 'lilypondfiles' - clicked on watch folder+ Now I can see d:\lilypondfiles in my list with 'manage watched folders....' Then I clicked on 'Back to Song librar...

Re: Midi's to aid learning

Here is a very simple piece to play. Some people know it as 'Vlooienmars' others as 'der Flohwaltz'. If you need the pdf you can ask me. On youtube you can search for 'vlooienmars' so you know how to play it. It's meant to learn to play with your both hands (crossing over) and to use the black keys.

Re: Midi's to aid learning

Daisy Bell song for who wants to have it. I made it myself with lilypond because I couldn't find a version with all parts of the song and I wanted to have the chordnames in the pdf file. It's based on the original from 1892 written by Harry Dacre. I found the sheetmusic in the Levy collection, it's ...

On http://parlorsongs.com/catalog/sitemap.php

you can find some old songs in midi, most of them as piano-songs between 1878-1951. Level is intermediate to (very) difficult.

Re: Command line starting with last used settings

Thank you Nicholas, because of your explanation about tracks and channels it's a lot clearer now. And yes you're right about lilypond, no tracks and no channels as far as I know, but all about staffs. So you have a pianostaff with a upper and a lower staff and you can give them names. As far as the ...

Re: playlist

Thanks for answering my questions Nicholas, I understand you're very busy. And thanks for the playlist feature too. With the staff stuff I didn't mean an unused staff, but the notes are split on the wrong staffs. That's why I asked to let the user choose on which staff he or she wants to see the not...

Re: Command line starting with last used settings

Hi all, I like the feature command line starting, because I understand, correct me if I'm wrong, that this makes a playlist possible, so I gave it one of my stars. :) But what I don't understand is the discussion about tracks versus channels. Can someone please explain what the difference is between...

Hello Nicholas and everyone else, First of all I want to thank you for the great work you've done so far. I like Synthesia very much, it's more fun to learn to play the piano/keyboard than from a book. English is not my native language, so forgive me please for the mistakes I make. If I'm not clear ...

Re: edit midi files

I use Anvil Studio to split. You can split the track in two tracks if you want. It's a free version. You can't print the score, but you can save the midi file. Within the menu Track you have two options: - Split Tracks into Singel-Channel Tracks - Split Track Using Keyboard Split Point... Most of th...
