Color priorities

Hello,

Does anyone know how color priorities are calculated? I would like to have an instrument (orange) appear over another (red), but every time red takes priority. I have tried changing channels, instruments, midi track order but the red channel somehow always has priority.

Does anyone know how this feature works?
