I've searched and read most of the posts regarding ASIO4ALL, but I didn't see the answer to this question.
I understand that the "approved" way of using this driver with Synthesia is via a host, but is it not possible for Synthesia to use the driver directly without a host?

ASIO4ALL is a driver for making an audio connection. Synthesia only sends MIDI. Therefore you have to select something that will accept MIDI as the Music Output. That something might in turn send audio using for ASIO4ALL.

Gotcha. I should have known that. :(

Using BassMIDI right now, but haven't figured out how to use ASIO4ALL with that...
