Can I play custom MIDI songs with the free version? If not, why do I have to buy it? Actually, nevermind, that's a stupid question.

Well there are a few more features you get, by buying an unlock key. First, the sheet music display, then the waiting feature, which I use quite a lot, though some recommend not to. I had forgotten you can't play custom MIDI files in the free version, been so long since I got the unlock key, I can hardly remember Synthesia without it!

Without it you have all the feature only for some selection of midi files included

But maybe you can import custom midi files and you haven't the feature.

I don't remember too ^^
