I don't know if this is already supported or possible with the current code...

But perspective rendering of the "falling blocks" would improve the ability to view the coming notes further away...
(yes, i know its possible to make the blocks smaller to view more of them... )

I guess the keyboard should stay in 2D but let the blocks be 3D .. kinda like Guitar Hero does it..

Do you mean like MIDITrail?

That perspective can get pretty extreme. ;)

well, i wouldn't rotate it that extreme.

only by the X-axis ... to make a vanishing point (above the screen upper bounds)

I suppose Guitar Hero only had five columns. Up to 88 is a lot more.

Do you think that the perspective might make it any trickier to scan downward with your eyes to decide which key a column belonged to? The little gray lines every half-octave help with this, but I'm still on the fence. It feels like it might be a usability decrease.

88 keys might be a problem - but if you zoom to "only notes in the melody" then it might be OK ?

Try it out and see how it goes :)
