Workaround for metronome when using piano VSTs

Trouble with Synthesia, your keyboard, or adapter? Think you found a bug?
When describing problems, always mention your OS and game version (shown at the bottom of the title screen).

If your keyboard has USB or MIDI ports, there is a tremendously high chance (>99%) it will work with Synthesia. See what you'll need on the keyboards page.

I'm using Pianoteq 6 and the Metronome sound in Synthesia just plays a piano key instead of a tick/beep

I've found that some people have found success holding shift when launching Synthesia changing the metronome.channel to 0 but it didn't work for me, perhaps that's just a hardware fix

What are you hosting Pianoteq 6 in? (Or does it have a stand-alone feature that reports itself as a MIDI device?) If you're using it through a DAW, usually you can map a different instrument--one with percussion sounds--to a different channel and then get the metronome to sound better that way.
