Synthesia won't change the keyboard octave on usb keyboard

Trouble with Synthesia, your keyboard, or adapter? Think you found a bug?
When describing problems, always mention your OS and game version (shown at the bottom of the title screen).

If your keyboard has USB or MIDI ports, there is a tremendously high chance (>99%) it will work with Synthesia. See what you'll need on the keyboards page.

When a usb keyboard is used instead of a bluetooth one on a legacy iMac, Synthesia will not change keyboard octave, the octave keys is off the melody, making all modes other than "watch and listen only" unplayable, and no matter what setting i change, even on the merged config tool, it does not fix it. Its a game-breaking bug. :(

Game version: Synthesia 10.2
OS: Mac OSX 10.6

What do you have selected under Settings --> Gameplay --> Keyboard Octave?

And you should be able to shift it back and forth with Z and X on your typing keyboard.

It happens if another input device is used, like a software synthesiser, like Fluidsynth. Disabled input under Music device, and it worked again! :D

You can probably make this work if you connect the MIDI devices running on your computer with a virtual MIDI cable, like the free LoopBe1. Trying to split the MIDI Out from your keyboard into two MIDI Ins for Synthesia and a second MIDI device like FluidSynth won't work. You will probably want to use the MIDI Out from Synthesia to be directed to LoopBe1 and the use LoopBe1 as the MIDI In for FluidSynth.
