Synthesia runs at high fps, using unnecessary resources

Trouble with Synthesia, your keyboard, or adapter? Think you found a bug?
When describing problems, always mention your OS and game version (shown at the bottom of the title screen).

If your keyboard has USB or MIDI ports, there is a tremendously high chance (>99%) it will work with Synthesia. See what you'll need on the keyboards page.

Is there a way to lock the program at a certain framerate? I tried using radeon frame rate target control and that didn't work. Currently it's running at 170fps and using 60% of my gpu, which is an rx 480.

Strange. V-sync should be enabled by default. (Are you running Synthesia 10.4? We just made that change.)

In any event, try this:
1. Hold your Shift key while launching Synthesia to show the configuration window.
2. Select the "Graphics.FrameMinMilliseconds" entry in the list.
3. Set the value to something like 10, 11, or 12.

That will change the max frame rate from 200Hz to 100, 90, or 83 respectively.

If you want to go all the way down to 60, try a value of 16.
