Delay between sound and note effect

Trouble with Synthesia, your keyboard, or adapter? Think you found a bug?
When describing problems, always mention your OS and game version (shown at the bottom of the title screen).

There is a slight but very noticeable delay in the falling notes and sound of the note. Is there any way to fix this? This is on Windows 7, Synthesia 10.4.

That sounds like the latency in the synth built into Windows. You can usually eliminate it by either sending your output to a digital piano (instead of to Windows) or by using one of the free, 3rd-party synths. We've got instructions for the latter, here.
