Synthesia Talk

I purchased the cheapest keyboard I could find that had a MIDI/USB port, with the intent of learning through Synthesia.
My model is a Medeli M5, and it's connected to my PC through a 2.0 Printer USB cable, Windows recognizes it without a problem, the drivers were installed automatically (couldn't find any other drivers online).
Synthesia also recognizes it just fine, but, once in a while, it stops receiving any input whatsoever from the keyboard. It doesn't display any error message. The USB icon on the keyboard is still lit up, and Windows doesn't pop the sound from a USB device being disconnected.
The only ways of solving this problem are either disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable, or turning the keyboard off and on again (when I do this, Windows makes the USB sound). Also, when I disconnect or turn the keyboard off, Synthesia displays the warning that my input device is no longer there.
I've tried MIDI-OX and had the same issue. Randomly the PC stops receiving input from the keyboard, and I have to kind of reset the connection between both of them.
I have tried tinkering with the USB ports' power management settings, both through the Windows Power Options and Device Manager. I've also switched the cable for a new one.
Is there anything else I could try, or is the issue 100% on my keyboard and I should contact the store I bought it from?

Note: this is on Windows 10 and current version of Synthesia.

Hmm, I want to say that sounds like it's Medeli's fault. It's pretty common in lower-end hardware (keyboards and adapters) to cut a few corners in the electronics. There are some particularly nefarious white-label MIDI adapters that are missing half the components on the PCB and aren't anywhere near meeting the actual MIDI hardware spec. With some computers it works just fine. With others, not at all. And most common: you get all sorts of little glitches here and there, similar to those you've described.

I wasn't able to tell from searching; does it have MIDI ports? That might be a workaround. If you get a more reputable USB-to-MIDI adapter that can communicate more reliably, you might have better luck.
