Sound problems using VirtualMIDISynth and Built-in Synth

Trouble with Synthesia, your keyboard, or adapter? Think you found a bug?
When describing problems, always mention your OS and game version (shown at the bottom of the title screen).
  • If your keyboard has USB or MIDI ports, there is a tremendously high chance (>99%) it will work with Synthesia. See what you'll need on the keyboards page.
  • If you have a Logitech webcam and can't get your keyboard/adapter to work, see this post.

Since the last update of Window 10 (a few days ago) I have been having sound problems using VirtualMIDISynth and the new Built-in Synth. The volume of the sound is very low (even when I set “maximum volume” in the computer), its quality is very poor. The sound is interrupted and there is a “noise”. It is similar to the noise emitted by a wired speaker or headphone that are badly connected.

There are a few reports from the last couple days that Microsoft knows about some audio-related problem. If your audio hardware matches the one they're talking about there, you might be able to update the driver to the not-broken version and see if that helps.
