Hello.

How can I use the Roland Sound Canvas VA sound engine as an AU with Synthesia?

Any info would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks . . . Dave

On Windows, you could use a virtual loopback driver (like LoopBe1 or loopMIDI) to send Synthesia's output to your Sound Canvas.

On Mac, they've got a built-in "IAC Driver" that can do the same thing.

Thanks Nicholas ! I see a midi channel is able to be selected.

For General Midi files to be played thru the Roland Sound Canvas VA, wouldn't I need all 16 channels to be covered?

How would I set this up?

Again many thanks . . . Dave

Usually it should be enough to enable IAC Driver on your Mac, choose that as an output device in Synthesia, and then choose it as an input device in whichever app is connected to your Sound Canvas. That should send all 16 channels automatically.

As for how those channels get mapped to the correct instruments on the Sound Canvas side, that will depend on the DAW or other app you're using.
