Android crash - The 'scores' data file couldn't be loaded: Error parsing element attribute

Trouble with Synthesia, your keyboard, or adapter? Think you found a bug?
When describing problems, always mention your OS and game version (shown at the bottom of the title screen).
  • If your keyboard has USB or MIDI ports, there is a tremendously high chance (>99%) it will work with Synthesia. See what you'll need on the keyboards page.
  • If you have a Logitech webcam and can't get your keyboard/adapter to work, see this post.

Android 10, app worked fine before but now crashes.
It looks like scores.xml got corrupted and there's no error handling for that.

Logcat: https://haste.rys.pw/raw/dahujuquqe

/data/data/com.synthesia.synthesia/files/synthesia/scores.xml: https://haste.rys.pw/raw/cadaniqawo

Deleting the file made the app launch again, which is obviously not ideal.

Sorry for the trouble. Deleting the file is the only workaround for now.

The 10.9 update is going to be focused on migrating over to something less prone to corruption. Files are fraught with peril. If you check the "What to do?" paragraph near the end of that article, I've decided on exactly that solution.
